Mold Still A Problem At
City Hall
Due to mold inside
Dunn City Hall, the magistrate, dispatchers and other police personnel
have been temporarily moved upstairs. The city council will vote tonight
on a contract with a local firm to help alleviate the ongoing problem. The
problem lies in the ceiling tiles in the hallway near the magistrate’s
office downstairs. Mold spores also exist in the mayor’s office bathroom
upstairs. The matter became an increase concern in January when
dispatchers and officers downstairs complained to Police Chief Tim Benware.

Mold lands family on
national TV
According to Maria Sherow of
Military Hill
Road, nationally recognized mold expert Jeffrey May identified
cladosporium mold throughout the Sherow’s home, from the basement drywall
to the one of the children’s bedrooms to inside the fiberglass insulation
in the attic.
Cladosporium
is the most common of the so-called black molds, found both outdoors and
in buildings. For people who are sensitive to it, the mold can cause
chronic allergy symptoms and trigger asthma and possibly fungal sinusitis.

Mold cure remains a mystery in
Easton
EASTON - The
chemical sprayed at Samuel Staples Elementary School to eliminate mold
remains a mystery despite nearly four months of investigation.
Local, state and federal
officials launched the investigation into Microb Phase Laboratories and
its owner, Ronald G. Schongar, in December after questions arose on what
he sprayed to contain mold at Samuel Staples School over the past several
years.

Exam turns up no
mold at Union Street School in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD - Town school officials hope students can
return to the Union Street Elementary School on Monday, as environmental
specialists believe dust caused health-related problems in the building.
After a thorough examination of the school, representatives from
Environmental Compliance Services of Brattleboro said the heating system
used in the school caused dirt to be raised into the air. Springfield
Superintendent Rose Rooth said officials hoped to reopen the school on
Monday after the building has been cleaned.

Mold the worst
damage at Academy gyms
Mold and other water damage caused by leaks, mostly on flat roofs or from
exterior drains, are the worst problems at the two former Lebanon Middle
School gyms at Academy Square, according to Chuck Nugent, representative
of a group that wants to fix up the gyms to make them suitable for use by
the community. The gyms are now owned by the city of Lebanon.

Tenants Meet With Property Management To Voice Complaints
FITCHBURG, Wis. -- Residents at Ridgewood Apartment complex are
finally getting their landlords' attention.
Rodney Clark, a resident for four months, is one
of many residents fed up with management and what they call substandard
living conditions.
Clark said his apartment was falling apart, and he could not fix
his heat.
