Mold Problems Show Up At
Bunn High School
FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.C. --
The state health department sent a letter home
to parents at a Franklin County High School telling them about a problem
with mold. Inspectors recently found some potentially toxic
mold at Bunn High School. They said it was growing around the insulation
on some of the pipes in the ceiling of the science building. Franklin County interim health director Sandra
Wood said the mold is not hazardous if left alone. She recommended that it
be removed to avoid any health risks.

Mold in dorms prompts
relocation
KENT, Ohio -- Sixteen
Kent State University students living on the first floor of Engleman Hall
had to relocate to the Allerton apartments because of a black mold that had
been growing on the first floor after heavy rains during the summer. The students had to move
because of health risks and so the university could fix the problem, said
Ron Kirksey, director of university communications. The university will
start fixing the problem today, Kirksey said. None of the other floors in
Engleman were affected.

Mold concerns raised at school
As Moon Area school officials complete mold- and moisture-related repairs
at the district's senior high school, new concerns are being raised about
what some think looks like mold in part of Bethel Park High School.
Condensation from an
air conditioning system backed up into the Moon Area library earlier this
month, damaging 347 books beyond repair. Another 1,500 books have been
sent to a restoration company for dehumidification.
